Cardi B is firing back at those claiming that she stole the idea for her highly anticipated new single, “Up.”

>The Grammy award-winning rapper was met with criticism nearly immediately after the colorful music video “Up” was released Friday. New Jersey rappers Mir Peso and Mir Fontane tweeted a side by side video of their single, “Stuck,” and Cardi’s single, comparing the two. They claim that Cardi stole the hook from their song.

The Bardi Gang quickly came to her defense with receipts, seemingly proving that Cardi had already completed the song before Fontane released his single. Cardi also tweeted a video clip on the night that “WAP” was released, showing her singing what we now know to be the hook for “Up.” The clip was from August 7th, 2020.

Fontane fired back by saying that he previewed his song on August 6th.

Still, Cardi further disputed the claims, stating that she wouldn’t mind giving an artist credit if she had used any aspect of their song.

“Naaa im the type of person that avoids problems & court days .If i get inspired by a song I wouldn’t mind giving a percentage or couple of thousand but I never Hurd if this man .I’m glad while I was recording this song in August I was playing wit the hook on this live,” she tweeted.

A user asked Fontane if the sample was cleared, to which he replied that it wasn’t.

Pesos entered the war of words, demanding Cardi to pay them for allegedly sampling their single.

As of now, Cardi’s team has not issued an official statement on the matter, despite tweets suggesting a lawsuit could be coming her way.

The 28-year-old mother of one says that she was inspired to get into the doll business so that her daughter would have a toy that looks like herself.

“As everyone knows, I’m a mom. And today, more than ever, it’s important to me to give my daughter inspiration and badass women to look up to.”

Real Women Are is an up-and-coming brand that thrives on providing representation to young girls of all ethnicities in the form of trendy dolls. As the first minority-women owned and led doll brand, Cardi believes it would be the perfect company to bring her vision to life.

“Working with Real Women Are is a chance for me to provide my daughter and other little girls something that looks like them to play with to inspire them. We’re in the White House now, but we’re still so far behind in other places. Representation matters.”

HBO Max is thinking about lowering its price because the streaming service’s execs believe “most people…are not wealthy.”

It’s only been one year since HBO Max came into the streaming service arena, and now the brand is considering creating a new tier of pricing for those who can’t afford the current payment plan, which is $14.99 a month.

“It turns out that most people on this planet are not wealthy,” WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar said during a virtual appearance at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media & Telecom conference via Deadline. “If we can wake up and use price and be able to kind of invent and do things elegantly through advertising to reduce the price of the service, I think that’s a fantastic thing for fans.”

Like Hulu and Peacock, HBO Max will now offer an ad-based payment plan tier, which is expected to launch later this year, according to UPROXX. The streaming service announced that thanks to Wonder Woman 1984, HBO Max is now two years ahead of schedule. The film’s January release reportedly doubled its subscribers after its theatrical and streaming release.

The streaming service believes the numbers will only grow higher, as Godzilla Vs. Kong is set to drop on the platform later this month.

Is HBO Max too expensive? Netflix’s highest payment plan tier is $17.99.

Apple‘s upcoming AirTags will provide a way for users to track a person or an item and allow a user to know if a person is tracking them.

According to Mashable, Apple has developed a new option called “Item Safety Alerts” within the iOS 14.5 beta feature. The outlet reports that the feature will alert a user when an unknown item is on their person or object being tracked. This feature would benefit someone if someone were to place an AirTag on an object, person, child, or pet of someone.

The Item Safety Alerts feature can be switched on or off in the Find My App tab. If a person chooses to have the feature turned off, a notice will alert the user to know that someone could potentially track them without the user being notified.

“The owner of an unknown item will be able to see your location, and you will no longer receive notifications when an unknown item is found moving with you,” the notice says.

The AirTags have Bluetooth capability and can easily be attached to bikes, clothing items, purses, or bags.

The Verge reports that the new feature may also not be solely exclusive to AirTags, as Apple reportedly plans on opening up the Find My app to other companies like Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag.
