Megan Thee Stallion (pictured) and mom-to-be Cardi B were among the big winners at the 2021 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Megan was joined on the red carpet by her significant other, rap producer Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine.

But Cardi grabbed the spotlight by revealing she was expecting her second child during a surprise set with her husband Offset‘s group Migos.

It was also a big night for singer Jazmine Sullivan, right, who took home the Album of the Year prize for “Heaux Tales.” Jazmine posed with rapper Coi LeRay before the show.

Singer H.E.R. was named Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, and Bruno Mars, took home two awards for Video Director and Best Group for his magical collaboration with Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic.

The awards show, hosted by Taraji P. Henson (pictured), featured a record 18 show-stopping performances from the likes of Sullivan, Lil Baby, H.E.R., DJ Khaled, and Lil Nas X, as well as tributes to Lifetime Achievement recipient Queen Latifah and the late DMX.

Queen Latifah was overcome with emotion as she collected her latest honor and accolade.

Holding back tears, the rap pioneer and actress took the stage after Lil’ Kim, Rapsody, MC Lyte and Monie Love delivered a stirring tribute, and had to compose herself before accepting the honor (see video blow).

“I’m so extremely moved I don’t even know what to… I want to thank BET for creating an outlet for beautiful blackness to thrive, to shine. When we couldn’t get played on the radio and other places, we couldn’t get our videos played in other places, there was BET that allowed us to be in our fullness.”

Latifah, a closeted lesbian, also thanked God, her father, Lancelot Owens, Sr., who joined her onstage, and her late mother, stating, “I’ve always celebrated the woman because I was raised by a strong Black woman, and raised by a father who loves women.”

Outrage Over Barack Obama’s 60th Birthday BBQ with 500 Guests Amid COVID Surge

Barack Obama sparked outrage over his huge 60th birthday bash with a guest list of 500 people at his beachfront Martha’s Vineyard mansion amid a surge in Delta variant cases.

The former U.S. President hired 200 workers for the huge bash next weekend to celebrate turning 60 on Aug. 4.

AXIOS reports that all attendees must be tested for COVID and be fully vaccinated, but face masks are not required.

Politicians, public figures, and social media users expressed outrage over news of the bash. But the White House dismissed the criticism.

Others pointed out the hypocrisy of elites like Obama operating under a different set of rules than average Americans.

Mark R. Jacobsen, an Assistant Dean at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University tweeted:

“Sorry Mr President @BarackObama – my kid would like a big birthday bash too – but this is tone deaf and we need some more leadership from influencers like you.”

Greg Pollowitz, Twitchy.com editor, said: “Obama must cancel his birthday party.” Pollowitz cited a recent Covid-19 outbreak in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, as the reason.

Mediate Senior Columnist John Ziegler tweeted:

“Elite Liberals: The two greatest threats we face are the COVID pandemic and global warming!! Also Elite Liberals: Let’s have a huge party on super-expensive beach front property we own, even though we claim to believe it will be soon overrun by the rising ocean!!”

Twitter also dragged Obama’s advisor Valerie Jarrett who asked the public for donations for Obama’s Presidential Center in Chicago.

“My dear friend @BarackObama is turning 60 tomorrow. For his birthday gift, I’m asking you to chip in $6 or $60 to help us bring the Obama Presidential Center to life in Chicago. Donate at http://obama.org/60-for-60/ #HappyBdayObama.”

Candace Owens tweeted in response:

“LOL.
He is throwing a party with 700 people on a private beach in Martha’s Vineyard but please peasants, remember to give whatever is left in your savings accounts to his causes and remember— we’re all in this together!”

DaBaby Reportedly Lost Lollapalooza Gig After Failing to Deliver Apology Video

Earlier this month, it was reported that rapper DaBaby did not respond to requests from LGBT+ groups to help create an HIV awareness and anti-stigma campaign targeting Black males.

DaBaby was “canceled” after uttering anti-HIV and anti-LGBT+ comments during his set at Rolling Loud music festival in Miami last month.

In addition to the PSA campaign, the “Suge” rapper was asked by music festival organizers to record a video of his “sincere and heartfelt” apology to the LGBT+ community.

According to industry insiders, DaBaby agreed to record a video in which he planned to confess that he was “touched” by a male family acquaintance as a child.

That incident reportedly fueled his longstanding hostility and resentment toward homosexuals as an adult.

As reported by Billboard, a publicist for DaBaby reached out to seven fall festival promoters and assured them that the video was forthcoming.

The apology video was to be played before he hit the stage at Lollapalooza. However, DaBaby missed the deadline to submit the video to Lollapalooza organizers for their approval.

He was dropped from the lineup and his slot was given to another rapper with feminine tendencies, Young Thug.

DaBaby has since lost lucrative gigs at other music festivals including Governors Ball, Parklife, Day N Vegas, ACL Fest, and the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

To control the significant damage to his rap career, DaBaby’s publicist wrote a heartfelt apology to the LGBT+ community and shared it on the rapper’s Instagram.

But the third party apology was too little, too late.
