According to the New York Post, an aspiring actor from Texas has been charged with beating a cop with a crutch during the January 6 Capitol riot.

A criminal complaint obtained by the Daily Beast states Luke Coffee, 41, faces assault charges for beating a federal law enforcement officer with a dangerous weapon and a charge for disorderly conduct on the Capitol grounds.

Coffee was seen in video footage wearing a cowboy hat, camouflage jacket, and a blue bandana. He was also seen carrying a crutch, the legal document reported.

Video footage shows him holding the crutch over his head before charging at the crowd of DC and Capitol police officers the day of the riot, the FBI reported. He is also accused of bashing a cop on the chest and head with the object before passing the weapon around to other rioters who also used it to attack other officers.

Coffee’s social media pages identify him as a Donald Trump supporter and believe the conspiracy theories of QAnon.

The day before the riot, the actor said in a YouTube video that “All hell is going to break loose tomorrow.” Following the insurrection, he continued his rants.

“I was ready to die last night. We thought we were, we were totally gassed. And I literally thought I was getting gassed to death like I was in Nazi Germany, a Jew getting gassed to death. Okay,” according to Dallas news outlet Central Track.

According to his IMDB page, Coffee has made several TV appearances, including Murder Made Me Famous, Friday Night Lights, Las Vegas, and others.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James clapped back at Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Friday after the footballer criticized him for getting involved in social causes.

In an interview on Thursday, Ibrahimovic said that athletes like James should avoid getting involved in political matters and focus solely on sports.

“I would never shut up about things that are wrong,” James said to reporters following the Lakers’ win over the Portland Trail Blazers. “I preach about my people, and I preach about equality. Social injustice. Racism. Systematic voter suppression. Things that go on in our community.”

“Because I was a part of my community at one point and saw the things that was going on, and I know what’s going on still because I have a group of 300-plus kids at my school that’s going through the same thing, and they need a voice. And I’m their voice,” he added. “I’m their voice, and I use my platform to continue to shed light on everything that may be going on, not only in my community but around this country and around the world.

“So, there’s no way I would ever just stick to sports because I understand how this platform and how powerful my voice is. “

James also pointed out that Ibrahimovic himself once spoke up about experiencing racism over his last name in Sweden. He claimed he was treated differently than other players because he did not have a traditional Swedish last name like Andersson or Svensson. 

“It’s funny because I believe in 2018 he was the same guy who said when he was back in Sweden … because his last name wasn’t a certain last name, that he felt there was some racism going on when he was out on the pitch,” said James. 

“I speak from a very educated mind, so I’m kind of the wrong guy to actually go at because I do my homework.”

An Oklahoma teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave after chastising a 7th-grade student for wearing a “Black King” t-shirt, calling it racist.

According to KFOR, Edmond Public School District officials in Oklahoma met with the teacher on February 25 about the incident, but they have not shared whether or not any disciplinary action will be taken against the educator.

“Edmond Public Schools district administrators met this afternoon… with a Heartland Middle School teacher at the center of a complaint,” Susan Parks-Schlepp, the director of communications for the school district, said in a statement.

“The district recognizes the public’s desire for a quick resolution to this issue. However, it’s important to note that employees have fundamental rights to ensure fairness when they are the subject of a complaint. Those rights include an option for the teacher to respond to and contest any recommended disciplinary action,” Park-Schlepp continued.

The 7th grader, Latrell Taft, claims his teacher abruptly stopped teaching the class to chastise his “Black King” t-shirt, which he was given as a birthday present. The t-shirt included an outline of Africa and allegedly offended the teacher who called it “racist.”
