According to the New York Daily Mail, a group speaking out on behalf of New York bars and restaurants wants Governor Cuomo to relax the state’s 10 p.m. curfew for the upcoming Super Bowl.

The group wants the governor to consider giving eateries a chance to show they can keep patrons safe from COVID-19.

The Empire State Restaurant & Tavern Association is calling on Cuomo to allow establishments to remain open until midnight this Sunday. The extension would allow customers to watch the football game indoors and give New York a trial run to see how things go, the outlet reported.

“Lifting the curfew for even two hours would provide an additional table turn for restaurants and will let patrons stay to watch the end of the game,” said Scott Wexler, the group’s executive director.

“But we recognize that the governor’s willingness to lift the curfew is dependent on his confidence that restaurants and bars will continue to follow the rules, that we won’t let the late hour reduce our commitment to compliance with the public health protections.”

Restaurants and bars in the area were forced to close at 10 p.m. back in November when officials prepared for a holiday surge in coronavirus cases.

Wexler says Sunday could act as a pilot program to let officials see how things go before potentially lifting the curfew for good.

Cuomo acknowledged that the fall spike in cases resulted from “living room spread”—small, private gatherings and not indoor dining. Last week the governor said the return of indoor dining was off the table but changed his mind and announced that New York eateries would be allowed to take customers starting February 14 at a 25% capacity.

Therefore, those who choose to watch the game in the Big Apple’s five boroughs will have to do so outdoors.

New York State Restaurant Associated and other groups representing the industry have also called on Cuomo to extend the curfew until midnight.

Still, despite the state rounding the corner from the post-holiday spike in cases, Cuomo seems to oppose the idea.

On Thursday, the governor informed the public that New York hospitalizations dropped by more than 500 patients over the last week. However, 135 New Yorkers died from the virus the day before.

“The good news is New York’s numbers continue to show progress as the holiday surge recedes,” Cuomo said. “As we enter into Super Bowl weekend, we cannot get cocky with COVID — we must remain vigilant: be smart, wear a mask, socially distance, and stay New York Tough.”

Sorry ladies, Tyrese Gibson is off the market again. The 42-year-old R&B singer recently kicked his estranged wife, Samantha, and their toddler daughter out of their Atlanta home when she filed for divorce.

Tyrese took to social media to beg God for forgiveness and to complain about the single life. That was last month.

It didn’t take long for Tyrese to find an Instagram model to keep his bed warm at night. According to Rhymeswithsnitch, her name is Zellie Timothy.

The newly minted couple was spotted sitting in a luxury box at the NBA All-Star Game in State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Sunday.

He captioned one Instagram post:

“sometimes you just gotta get out of the house stressing over shit you can’t change does nothing…….. Shout to those who ain’t got nothing figured out but just out here trying……….. Zzzzzzzzzz thank you for the laughs and good vibes I know I needed….. #AntiSocial no one knows what the future holds but I know who hold the future…. God! [ there is no greater WEALTH in the world than having a peace of mind ] say what you say if your not a. flat out evil and enjoy seeing people go though challenging times just keep me and my family in your prayers… Appreciate you…”

According to Tyrese, Zellie is of Dominican and Asian descent.

Tyrese has a history of failed relationships with women. He’s not getting any younger and his movie roles are drying up. He’s paying child support for two children plus maintaining at least three households.

Miss Zellie may have to get the bag as quickly she can before he dumps her for the next IG model.

CDC Releases New COVID-19 Guidelines For Fully Vaccinated Adults

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has unveiled new guidelines for Americans who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the new guidelines, citizens who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine may gather in small groups inside their homes with others who have been fully vaccinated. Masks nor social distancing are required during these gatherings. They may also spend time with unvaccinated citizens from one other household as long as they are at low risk for any severe illness.

Additionally, the guidelines state that fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to quarantine or get tested for COVID-19 test if they’ve been exposed to the virus unless they show symptoms. However, paying close attention for at least 14 days for arising symptoms is suggested.

During Monday’s White House briefing, CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky confirmed these new guidelines.

“You can visit your grandparents if you’ve been vaccinated and they have been, too. If grandparents have been vaccinated, they can visit their daughter and her family even if they have not been vaccinated, so long as the daughter and her family are not at risk for severe disease.”

Those who have received the vaccine should still wear a mask and practice social distancing in public. They should also avoid large gatherings.

These updated guidelines come as several states have voted to pull back mask mandates, a move that President Joe Biden has called a “big mistake.” So far, Texas, Alabama, Montana, Mississippi, and Iowa are lifting COVID-19 mask restrictions.

On Tuesday, the President also said that there would be enough vaccines for every American adult by the end of May.
