TEXAS — A security guard is dead after he was assaulted inside Fitness Connection gym in Mesquite.
Police responded to the attack at around 4:30pm Saturday at the Fitness Connection in the 2000 block of Town East Boulevard. Once at the scene, officers located an unconscious 43-year-old Patrick PreJean — who was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Mesquite police say a physical confrontation broke out between PreJean and others inside the gym area.
A purported video of the incident showing PreJean’s final moments was posted online.
Police say they have identified some people in the video, but no charges have been filed so far as the exact cause of death remains unclear at this time.
An investigation is underway to determine if PreJean was the victim of homicidal violence.
